-- Tickets are on sale now for Tri-Valley Haven’s V-Day sponsored production of Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues. Performance dates are April 1 and 8 at 8PM and April 10 at 2 at Livermore’s Bankhead Theater.
This year’s production will be directed by Kristi Grand. Grand performed in the Haven’s production of the Monologues last year and is bringing her own unique vision to the production this year. “Eve Ensler writes ‘when you bring consciousness to anything, things begin to shift’. I wanted to be a part of healing, a catalyst of bring consciousness to many stories in hopes of finding freedom for myself and for others” says Grand, “ What an amazing opportunity to be involved with a show that not only allows me the opportunity to give but gave me so much in return”.
April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and the benefit production of The Vagina Monologues has become the Haven’s signature event. “We could not be happier to continue to offer this amazing production to the Tri-Valley”, says Jennifer Dow Rowell, Director of Community Education and Development for Tri-Valley Haven, “the response from the community is overwhelming and the proceeds support the vital work that the Haven does to assist victims and survivors of sexual assault”. Tri-Valley Haven is the valley’s primary provider of sexual assault counseling and prevention services. Last year the Haven served over 200 victims of sexual assault through its Rape Crisis Center and provided prevention programs to over 2400 students and community members.
Now in its fourth decade of service Tri-Valley Haven provides vital shelter and support services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and homelessness. The Haven also provides comprehensive violence prevention education and counseling. For more information about the Haven please visit www.trivalleyhaven.org or call (925) 449-5842.
