"Downtown Coworking Week" scheduled for February 28 – March 4, 2011 in Jacksonville, Florida

Feb. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- CoWork Jax presents the first “Downtown Coworking Week“ in Jacksonville, Florida, hosted by AT&T Tower 301, and in cooperation with Downtown Vision, Inc. (DVI) and the Downtown Improvement District. There is a growing trend in coworking as a result of advances in technology that is also reducing the dependency on the traditional office environment.  Coworking offers the synergy of working in a shared environment with others that can‘t be found by those working from home, or in their local coffee shop.  Terry Lorince, executive director, Downtown Vision, Inc. stated, “The response to our online survey is positive with more than 70 people completing the survey so far.  The results will help the coworking committee determine the level of interest, define what workers want and determine the optimum coworking scenario for the downtown market.”  

Interested in joining the growing number of cities that have at least one coworking space, and to determine what will work best for downtown Jacksonville, the coworking committee is hosting a week-long event at the AT&T Tower 301.  “Downtown Coworking Week“ will be a casual coworking event to allow people to experience working in a coworking environment on a temporary basis, and at no cost to them.

“The AT&T Tower 301 is pleased to be involved in this effort as a way to support local entrepreneurs and Downtown as well as showcasing our building,” said Pamela Smith, property owner representative of AT&T Tower 301.

"Downtown Coworking Week" will be held Monday, February 28 through Friday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Anyone interested in participating may register at http://coworkjax.com.
