Margaret’s mother was hospitalized 45 times between December, 2004 and her death in April, 2010. Living in another state until July, 2008, Margaret made numerous trips home to help care for and visit her ailing mother. This took a tremendous personal, financial and emotional toll on her and her family.

When her mother was diagnosed with Dementia in 2005, Margaret started journaling and discovered many things about herself and her family. After the death of her brother in 2004, she was finally free of the abusive sibling who had inflicted great pain upon her. The journal turned into a book, “When Ties Break”, which was released in August of 2010. Today she devotes much of her time coaching others on how to deal with painful life events, such as illness and dying.  For more information about Margaret Norton, please see http://www.whentiesbreak.com.
