Los Angeles, CA—The R & M Charitable Foundation Family along with the Junior Varsity Coaches of the Los Angeles Unified School District has honored Dr. Hootan Melamed with an award in recognition of his work with the LAUSD sports teams. An avid sports fan, Melamed has coached children’s basketball for the past several years.
In addition to coaching children’s sports teams, Dr. Melamed recognizes the importance of compassionate living and actively contributes to the global community by providing financial sponsorship, donated goods and services to those in need.
The R & M Charitable Foundation Family was founded by Reginald Mallard to help continue school-age sports programs and in doing so, they like to recognize community involvement and dedication. Mallard calls Melamed’s involvement “Beyond our expectations”
. Continuing, Mallard added, “With the recent budget cutbacks, we deeply depend on generous-hearted folks like Dr. Melamed to keep our sports programs alive. Without community volunteers, kids wouldn’t be able to play basketball.”
Dr. Hootan Melamed is a licensed pharmacist and the founder of New Age Pharmacy, a and Skyyler Holdings, a business solutions firm for neighborhood boutique pharmacies.
