Feb. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- According to a study involving more than 130,000 American men and women, if you eat 2 or more cups of berries a week, you may be protecting yourself from Parkinson’s disease.

Berries are rich in antioxidants called flavonoids.  Not all flavonoids are created equal.  According to this study only those flavonoids known as anthocyanin that are found in berries and other red and purplish fruits and vegetables give the protection needed against Parkinson’s.

The study took place over a 20 to 22 year period and involved 49,627 men and 80,171 women.  Their daily intake of flavonoids were calculated.

During the two decades, 805 cases, 438 men and 367 women, were diagnosed with Parkinson’s.  Taking into account all the known risk factors for the disease, research found that those who eat a regular diet rich with the flavonoid, anthocyanin, had a lower risk of developing Parkinson’s.

Xiang Gao, M.D Ph.D, from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, and his group performed this study and it will be presented at the American Academy of Neurology’s 63rd annual meeting  in April.

YouthJuice, a health and wellness product manufactured in Canada by Our World Network, contains the synergistic blend of 7 berries.  This product is not made from concentrates of these berry juices; rather it is made from the puree of the berries.

The first berry puree listed in the ingredients is the elderberry, a very dark purplish berry.  The other six berries purees are the red raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, boysenberry, black currant, and the cranberry.  All the berries are canadian grown.

Each 25 ounce bottle is made from 7 pounds of these flavonoid rich berries along with 3 sea vegetables, kombu fucoidan, bladderwrack and ulva.

With the high cost and availability of these 7 berries you will find the pricing of this health and wellness product to be very reasonable, 1 ounce costing you as little as $1.00 to $1.50.  More information can be found at http://fucoidanforhealth.com/store/
