Feb. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Advertising with flyers is one of the most economical ways to advertise and if done in the right way, will also be extremely effective for your business. Lots more customers can be targeted because flyers are relatively cheap and there are some innovative ways to make sure your flyers are seen and taken notice of.
Your product and what you are marketing is the most important aspect and should be the focal point of your flyer layout. Customers are often too quick to dismiss advertisements and with increasing amount of advertisements on T.V, in shopping centres and in newspapers, we are all guilty of switching off and so it is important that you remember that you have to grab the attention of your customers quickly before they drift off and ignore your flyer.
Making sure first that your content is informative but relatively simple will ensure that your flyer doesn’t take too much effort to read. If your flyers are packed full of small text with very little else, you are likely to lose the attention of your reader almost immediately. Plan what is going into your flyer and plan carefully to ensure you get the message across effectively.
Your Logo is another important part of the flyer and you must keep consistent with your other advertising strategies, this is what will help people to recognise you and make reference when they are thinking about your products.
Pictures and the way your flyer looks is also hugely important, your flyer should be easy on the eye but at the same time, should be eye catching enough for your reader to want to continue to be interested. Staying with black and white will obviously cost less but it is always better to opt for colour to have the most impact. Text is the most important part of your flyer and the graphics and colour should always compliment that.
Text should be kept consistent with the same style and flow throughout, changing and making your flyers different is okay but making them too conflicting is likely to put the reader off.
The final thing to consider when advertising with flyers is distribution, you need to think carefully about the customer base you are targeting and don’t waste flyers in areas where they will have little impact.  It is always a good idea to include promotional offers in your flyers which will give the reader added incentive to want to continue reading.
