Plant Sale kicks off spring gardening season

Conservation District of Southern Nevada to promote water conservation and energy efficiency.
 
Feb. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Conservation District of Southern Nevada (CDSN) will hold four Spring Plant Sales at Acacia Demonstration Gardens in Henderson on Saturday, March 5th & 26th and April 9th & 23rd from 8AM to 12PM. Spring has arrived and it’s time to plant.  CDSN plant sales feature drought-tolerant plants for your home, patio or garden.  

CDSN partners with the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) where the plants are locally grown by CSN students.  To jump start the spring gardening season, the CDSN Plant Sale will offer a rich and timely selection of Nevada natives, butterfly and humming bird attractors, tortoise food plants, succulents, cactus garden dishes, and new this spring; herbs and veggies.  CSN experts will be providing “Plant Talks” at each sale to help residents make educated and confident choices about their landscape. Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will also be available for advice and questions.  Free compact florescent light (CFL) four packs will be given away to each customer making a plant purchase. Only while supplies last.  

The sale will benefit CDSN programs and projects. CDSN is committed to protecting Southern Nevada’s natural resources and improving the environmental quality of our Mojave Desert.
