Feb. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Toronto, ON  — Annette LeFort, teacher at Nova Scotia’s NDA School, and Darren Fradette, Principal of St. Anne School in Saskatchewan, were announced respectively as the December 2010 and January 2011 winners of the NelsonSchoolCentral.com $5000 giveaway. Only one more $5000 prize remains to be drawn at the end of February. To celebrate the conclusion of the contest, registrants in the final week (February 21st through to midnight on February 28th) will receive double entries to increase their chances to win.

LeFort and Fradette revealed their project plans for investing their winnings in diverse educational tools for their schools, including: laptops; a digital camera; a set of atlases; and Nelson Literacy solutions, including professional development and guided reading resources.

“The NelsonSchoolCentral.com giveaway has been quite an experience for us,” said Michael Boughner, Executive Director of Marketing, School Division. “We wanted it to reflect our mission of enabling the success of Canadian students and educators. Since the launch of the contest, we’ve heard wonderful stories from teachers and school staff excited about the projects and programs they could create with this funding, and have been impressed by the breadth and scope of their ideas. We’re extremely honoured by the educational professionals who, when given free reign to spend their win on any resources they want, have chosen to put money towards Nelson Education solutions such as Nelson Literacy. And we’re all very excited to find out whom our final winner will be!”

The deadline to enter the final draw for $5000 is February 28th, 2011. For more information and to register, visit http://www.nelsonschoolcentral.com. For full details on the giveaway contest, including updates on all of the winners, visit http://www.nelson.com/win5000.
