Donation to The Children's Advocacy Center Benefits Local Bonita Springs Area Fathers
The Children's Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida receives grant to benefit local Bonita Springs area fathers.
The Partners in Parenting – Nurturing Dads Program is an evidence based, 12-week course designed to teach parenting and nurturing skills to men. The goal of the course is to provide fathers with the necessary knowledge, skills, resources and services to build upon their parenting strengths and prevent abuse and neglect.
Funding from the Bonita Springs Community Foundation will support one 12-week class for a maximum of 12 clients. The class will be held at either the Bonita Springs United Way House or the Bonita Springs YMCA. Currently, the class is only offered at the CAC Fort Myers facility.
Course material is based on The Nurturing Father’s Program, authored by Mark Perlman, MA, a Florida Supreme Court certified family mediator. The program has been successfully implemented by Head Start, Prevent Child Abuse America, as well as numerous schools, churches and prisons across the country.
