RANDA Signs Milan Special and Tipton County Schools to Pilot Program

Feb. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- RANDA Solutions announced today that an agreement has been signed between the Nashville-based education technology firm and two West Tennessee school districts, Milan Special School District and Tipton County School, to pilot the company's new Teacher Observation and Evaluation Application for Mobile Devices. Training on the app began began Feb. 16, with the live program starting immediately.

RANDA's Teacher Observation and Evaluation App moves the teacher observation process from the traditional paper and clipboard method into the digital realm. Scheduling, work flow and administrative duties are performed on the mobile devices and through an associated web portal. Observers perform the observation unobtrusively on the mobile devices during live classroom settings. The devices are then synced with the website to allow for instant analysis and reporting by administrators.

The app works with the most popular mobile device platforms; these particular pilot programs will be using Apple iPads. The app also accommodates a variety of rubrics, which are the set of standards used to observe and evaluate teacher performance. These will be the first RANDA mobile device pilots to use the AIMS Tiger rubric. The pilot program now has eight rubrics.

This represents the fourth and fifth pilot program RANDA has launched with the app, and it rounds out the program into a blend of urban, suburban and rural school districts. RANDA is in negotiations to pilot at several other districts. All the pilot programs are currently in Tennessee.

The Milan and Tipton programs will run for four months, concluding in May.
