The 2010 Ron Acker Link Up for Kids Golf Tournament was a Success

Feb. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- LONGWOOD, FL – On Monday, November 8th, 2010, the annual Ron Acker Link Up for Kids Golf Tournament was held at the Alaqua Lakes Golf Club in Longwood, Florida. The event was organized by Kevin Acker, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX 200 Realty and RE/MAX Town & Country Realty, in honor of his father, Ron Acker who was founder of both offices and a charitable local citizen. The tournament was attended by almost 100 of Central Florida’s business owners and charitable citizens and the proceeds of the event benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.

The day started off with a large continental breakfast provided by Leading Edge Title Company and led to a full 18 holes of golf with a few holes geared toward other charitable organizations, such as breast cancer research. After golfing, a large buffet lunch was enjoyed in the Legacy Club, followed by a raffle and award ceremony. The event raised ____ for Children’s Miracle Network, pushing the two RE/MAX offices to over $1 million in contributions to CMN.

“This event is always fun, not just because of the golf, but to see all of the support given by friends, co-workers and family members to this great cause. I know CMN will use the money for amazing things in local hospitals. It’s great to see everyone as concerned about the well-being of the community as I am and as my father was,” said Kevin Acker.

The Children’s Miracle Network is an organization that supports better health for kids and includes over 170 national children’s hospitals. 100% of the donations made to CMN from local benefits are used for patient care equipment, fund research and other important necessities.
