Showcase Week Kicks off the 5th Annual DMV Music Awards. Performance Opportunities are Available

Feb. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- The 5th Annual DMV Music Awards launches into high gear as planners prepare for showcase week and the official pre-award festivities. Beginning on February 26, recording artists in the DMV will have an opportunity to perform at the region’s hottest open mic’ night sets. Showcase week is a chance to celebrate the talents of independent artists in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia by allowing them to participate in the award show prior to the actual event. Showcase week also gives DMV music lovers the opportunity to become familiar with nominees and various artists prior to the show on March 5.

Open mics will take place all over the region. Scheduled events are as follows: Monday, February 28 at Roses Dream in Washington, DC; March 1 at Icons in Fairfax, Virginia; March 2 at Club Reality in Baltimore, Maryland and March 3 at Felicita Restaurant & Club in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
      
The 5th Annual DMV Music Awards will take place on March 5 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City. Red carpet entry is at 6 pm and the program starts at 7:30. Tickets are $35 and available for purchase at all Downtown Locker Room (DTLR) locations or online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/144513.
