CommonWealth One Sponsored the Virginia Credit Union League

Feb. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union is active in supporting the local community and continued this drive by selling over 400 2010 White House Ornaments in its branches in 2010.  The White House Ornaments have a long standing tradition of being desired collector items and are very popular in our metro Washington, DC area.

Each year, the White House sells a new ornament with a dedicated theme.  This year, the ornament honored the twenty-fifth president of the United States, William McKinley along with celebrating the role of music in the traditions of the White House.  McKinley was remembered as a time gone by when the nation moved beyond its boundaries to become an international power.  McKinley’s life was tragically cut short by an assassin in his second term.  

By donating the proceeds of the sales of the ornament to the Virginia Credit Union League, CommonWealth One supported the political environment of credit unions on the state and national level through political candidates.  The League represents the 190-plus member-owned, not-for-profit credit unions headquartered in the CommonWealth.
