An article on Internet TV and streaming live TV
By: Rick Haynes
Before, watching TV was only possible through broadcasting through the air as well as cable signals. To watch TV you needed a television antenna and the antenna would catch the broadcast signal and send it to the TV via an antenna wire. And for cable it was just a matter of hooking a cable to the back of the TV but you need a cable provider.
What is Internet TV? It is the newest way to enjoy Internet TV on a computer. If you download a certain software program, then it becomes possible to see different channels from around the world in different categories like news, movies, music, sports, shopping, and others. This works in any part of the world, which only means that whether you are in the U.S. or anywhere in the world, it is possible to enjoy lots of channels.
The way we have received our news and entertainment is also changed by this new technology. At first it was newspapers where we got our news and information. Then came along radio and after that TV. Now, it seems as though that the traditional television is now being challenged by what we call as "streaming Internet TV".
The act of transmitting audio and video over an Internet connection to a PC is the definition of Internet Streaming TV. The term Internet protocol television or IPTV is also used to describe this new television technology. You may now watch TV directly on your PC or lap top screen, a television screen, or even on a mobile device.
Internet TV is nearly the same as watching television through the use of cable or antenna; however, it is different in such a way that Internet TV uses the Internet to transmit information. The cable programs are fewer than what Internet TV offers.
There are free programs to watch such as HULU or TNT.TV. I like to be able to watch TV programs on the internet that I missed during the week such as NICS. But If I want I can also pay for some software for a one time payment of less than $50 and watch TV from around the world. The program I use is called Stream Direct TV
