By: A & R Select Lola de Hanna is a Greek singer/songwriter who came to New York to become a psychologist and strayed off her path and into music. In Greece and in the UK she collaborated with various musicians and did songs ranging from electro-goth to alternative rock. ChordSlinger has lived in southern Ohio his whole life. He wrote music at a very young age and played with several local bands. He owned a business that burned several years ago at which time he lost his life’s work and most of his assets. He turned to music to help him heal. He began writing instrumentals and had put out a CD of original compositions which could be found on iTunes called Deliverance from Flames. He met Lola at a music sight called The Sixty One. They had agreed that Lola’s voice and ChordSlinger’ As a duo, ChordSlinger n Lola have developed music that is rooted in many genre’s of music such as rock, new age, ambient, classical, blues and others. Songs being highlighted: • “Here For You” is a ballad about standing tall with someone through thick or thin. The piano intro is dynamic and full of drama creating a voice within the song. Vocally, the story is told with emotion and was perfectly arranged and delivered. • “Who We Are”, is about the moment of realization that someone has broken through your defenses and make that connection that may be everlasting. This song has a wonderful melody line, wonderful harmonies and also a very relatable subject. It is sung with emotion that keeps your attention throughout. • “Do You Need a Reason” is a story of realization that someone may not feel as strongly about a relationship as you do and having a body/mind reaction to this awareness. The vocals are crisp and poignant. This ballad initiates introspective thought. It is beautifully arranged and delivered. • “Round We Go” revolves around relationships that have reached their limit. It’s a relatable storyline with suspense and drama. The guitar solo is similar to another voice speaking yet no one hears what is being said. Their music is full of emotion and layers of texture that enhance the audiences’ understanding of the storyline, creating very radio friendly, relatable songs that have long term effects. ChordSlinger n Lola are in the top 150 out of over 1 million artists in Reverbnation. They are ranked #6 in the United States in the pop category.
