Feb. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Since opening in 1940, Hunter Automotive Group has made community involvement a top priority. Located in Hendersonville, North Carolina, Hunter Automotive Group has maintained involvement in community outreach with organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club, which opened in Henderson County in 1993. Since beginning participation with the Boys & Girls Club, Hunter Automotive Group has held an annual golf tournament to benefit the organization, and became the Henderson County Boys & Girls Club 2011 Business of Caring after granting $50,000 to the organization. Their gracious donation has inspired Commerce for a Cause, a new way for companies to donate by giving a portion of annual profits to the club. Since 2008, membership to the Boys and Girls Club has grown by 41 percent, giving up to 1,270 Henderson County youth the opportunity to attend the Club. One young woman recently wrote of the impact that donations can have on the lives of children in Henderson County. Joreeca, a 17 year old attendee of Boys & Girls Club expressed the ways in which the organization has changed her life and her gratefulness to Hunter Automotive Group for the contributions that make her attendance at the club possible. Joreeca writes:

   Dear Mr. Hunter,
My name is Joreeca. I am 17 years old and have been at the Club for three years now. I am writing today to let you know what the Boys & Girls Club means to me.
The Club is truly my second home; a safe place where leaders surround me and inspire me to achieve and make a difference. They’ve given me guidance to learn right from wrong, like being a baby and becoming a young lady. They’ve given me the ability to realize my achievements and the tools to change for the better.
The one word that I would use to best describe the club is “yes.” “Yes” is what the Club means to me because it has changed my life. My definition of yes is giving me the chance to do everything I can and teaching me how to do everything I can’t. The staff encourages me to reach my goals no matter what comes my way. At the Boys and Girls Club the answer is never, “no.”
Without the Club, I couldn’t describe what my life or my choices would be like today. I have my family and school, but the Club is a positive influence in my life. The Boys & Girls Club brings me joy and opportunity.
Today I am a leader. I’m responsible, and I’ve made up in my mind that I will never fail because of the Boys and Girls Club. The mission of the Club has been accomplished in me, and now I can accomplish my mission each and every day.
I’m no longer the girl with a bad attitude. I’ve opened up to people and make better grades. I am no longer a misfit piece. I am part of a whole. Neither the club nor I would be complete without each other.
I needed the tools the Club provided me and I will keep them forever in my toolbox. With these tools, I am building and constructing the perfect me. Thank you so much for supporting this great place which is helping me to become my best.

Joreeca’s letter speaks of the positive impact that Boys & Girls Club has on young adults, and the way that donations can create inspiring opportunities for even more children. Donations and community involvement make the Boys & Girls Club the successful organization that it is, and giving to the cause can create new opportunities for the future of Henderson County. Costing only $5 a year per child, supporting the Club is an affordable prospect for many community members and businesses. Regardless of the amount, every donation can help shape the life of a child like Joreeca.
