Corby businesses invited to free Business Advice Open Day

Feb. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- If you’re thinking of starting a new business, or are already running one, you can get free help and advice at the Corby Business Advice Open Day next month. In addition to the FREE Business Link ‘Fresh Start’ event being held at the Guildhall, Northampton – Saturday 26th February to help budding entrepreneurs get their business idea off the ground, HM Revenue & Customs’ (HMRC) have launched a series of local Business Advice Open Days to help the self employed, small and medium sized enterprises keep up with the latest developments and initiatives.

They are designed to make life easier by bringing together a range of organisations under one roof.  The Corby event takes place at The Holiday Inn Corby-Kettering A43 on Tuesday, 8 March 2011, and runs from 9.30am to 5pm.  

Roger Lovell, Business Liaison Team Leader, HMRC said:

“Running a small or medium sized business can be a challenge and the most successful use their time wisely.  It can be difficult to take time out to contact lots of organisations for help, and that is why we created the Local BAOD programme – to bring quality advice and assistance in a friendly and informal  ‘one stop shop’.

“Delegates in Corby can view the free exhibition and attend seminars on a range of topics from tax, business development and employment law.  A brand new seminar for this year is aimed at businesses interested in competing for a contract at or around the Olympics venues and training camps.  Delegates can find out what’s going on locally and how their business could get a chance to bid.

“Last year we and our partner organisations welcomed 10,000 visitors to our BAODs – and this year we are aiming to help even more.  Our programme of smaller, local BAODs will allow us to reach out further to urban and rural areas. We intend to visit 23 new venues in 2011 and run around 70 events in total this year.”
