V-White & The Politician drop new video feat Too Short

Feb. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Oakland hip-hop mainstays V-White and The Politician aren’t slowing down anytime soon. On the heels of their recent banger “Should I Let this Street Shit Go” the duo is wasting no time releasing their ode to the golden state “California.”  These two music videos are two among the string of videos produced for focus tracks off the album, “Can We Funk” and “Random Thoughts” can be viewed on the groups YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/vwhiteent.

While “California” features beaches and bikini clad females, this video is definitely not on the Katy Perry tip. Heavily influenced by Cali’s funk era, this video trades played out cheesecake pinup images for lo-riders and The Black Panther Party- an integral part of the duo’s history growing up in Oakland.

“California” features a cameo from the Bay Area’s most notorious rapper Too Short. Short is also responsible for introducing V-White and The Politician eight years ago, enabling the two artists to forge a musically creative relationship.

Produced by The Politician, the duo’s November 2010 album release The Stimulus Package also features verses from Beeda Weeda, Messy Marv, and newbie R&B singer Ricky D, who the group is cultivating under their label. With understated but effective melodies, The Stimulus Package adds variety to Bay Area hip-hop. The duo is also preparing to drop their forthcoming effort, Talk of the Town this summer.  

V-White is best known as half of the Oakland act The Delinquents. After signing with Priority Records in the 90s, he released the classic “Bosses will be Bosses” and “That Man.” He has also worked with hip-hop notables such as Snoop Dogg, Mack 10, Master P and Too Short.

Big Zeke The Politician wears many hats, often taking on the roles of producer, writer and rapper. He has worked with countless artists and has established himself as one of the best producers in the Bay Area.
