Dennis G Ott Has Served On Several Community Boards and Commissions

A resident of Kelso, WA, he has been an important part of the community and he has served on several community boards and commissions. Dennis G Ott has served on the Cowlitz County Housing Board while studying housing needs in the Cowlitz County. He was also on Cowlitz County Ombudsman Advisory Council in intermediary between nursing home services and patients dealing with complaints and needs of both. In case there were violations of procedures or laws, Dennis G Ott had the authority to involve state agencies.

Dennis G Ott was also on the Kelso Chamber of Commerce Board where he served for 19 years in every office of the board. As President, he was responsible for business greetings for new members, organizing ‘business after hours’ events, Chamber of Commerce Annual meetings, auditing the books and promoting business and business relations within the community. He also greeted tourists to the county and the city and organized and administered the Volcano Center featuring Mount St. Helens. He oversaw the conversion of the vacant buildings into a viable downtown business. The preservation of the historic train station into a regional transportation hub occurred while he was President. He also undertook the responsibility of auditing the Chamber books for many years.

Dennis Ott Attorney was also Commissioner of the Kelso Planning Commission for 8 years. The weekly meetings of the Commission were held to advance building permits, community development and study and recommendation of resolutions for community issues. He also helped in making reports to the Kelso City Council for the city’s development.
