Feb. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- In a continuing effort to meet the needs of their clients, Instructional Technologies, Inc., (ITI) has just released their newest interactive training lesson, Bloodborne Pathogens, created specifically to meet  OSHA requirements.

“At ITI, new content is often determined by our client base and their areas of greatest need,” said Nathan Stahlman, ITI Director of Product Development. “This important lesson was created to help our clients provide a safe work environment while minimizing the possibility of employee exposure to bloodborne pathogens.”

The focus of this lesson is on two types of bloodborne pathogens that endanger health in the workplace: Hepatitis B and HIV, the two diseases that are covered by OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogen Standard. The lesson looks at how people get these diseases, what the symptoms are, and most importantly, what can be done to avoid becoming infected. The subject is presented in non-medical terms, making it more accessible to employees unfamiliar with medical terminology

Unlike more traditional video and workbook training, ITI’s Bloodborne Pathogens, along with their other
Pro-TREAD lessons, is web-based and can be easily accessed by employees anywhere with an Internet connection. Pro-TREAD is also now available on personal mobile devices.
