By: City and County of Swansea And the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea, will be hosting one of the more energetic festivities when Jac Y Do, one of Wales’ top folk groups will provide an evening of live music and fun. The event will help participants learn how to barn dance in Welsh. Dave Preece said “Anyone who comes to this event can learn some new dance moves with the help of Jac Y Do’s caller, enabling them to dance and laugh the night away. “It will certainly be an evening full of excitement that all the family will enjoy, and no experience is necessary”. Jac Y Do have represented Wales at international festivals in Majorca, Portugal and Canada, and are well known in Welsh folk festivals including Pontardawe, the National Eisteddfod, and the Royal Welsh Show. They have been involved with over 1,400 performances over the years and their music and songs are a mix of traditional and modern Welsh with a little bit of Irish thrown in. Twmpath Jac Y Do takes place on 4 March at the Brangwyn Hall with tickets priced £6 or £4 for concessions.
