Feb. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Following a strong resurgence of construction toys in 2010, 2011 looks even stronger with Flair Plc’s relaunch of Geomag, the brand leader in magnetic construction toys.

According to the British Toy and Hobby Association, the UK toy market is now valued at an estimated £2.83 billion, with Building Sets being one of the fastest growing categories in 2010 with an increase of 45% in sales.

Attendees of London’s Toy Fair were given a first-hand demonstration of the highly constructive and creative capabilities of Geomag as celebrity builder Craig Philips created a 2.5 meter high replica of Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster.

Geomag is an ingenious magnetic construction system with magnetic rods and chrome spheres - two basic elements with which a huge number of geometric shapes and structures can be made and endless fun can be had. The final touch to the Big Ben construction was bespoke Geomag panels that made up the famous clock-faces.

Geomag is set to enhance creativity and play appeal for kids. The new collection includes the traditional construction range in 22, 44 and 66 piece sets, alongside 36 or 72 piece sets which feature new coloured panel pieces adding a further dimension to the build possibilities. The classic Geomag Kids and Geomag Panels collections feature new innovations to aid the classic Geomag build.

“I'm delighted that construction toys are seeing such a growth,” commented Craig Philips. “It's great to get kids involved with construction and using their hands at an early age, giving them more of a chance to work in the construction industry when they grow up.

“I prefer toys like Geomag that encourage kids to play and that are hands on, rather than computer games. I wish there were toys like Geomag when I was a kid.” concluded Philips.

New to the range in 2011, Geomag Wheels combines magnetic construction with classic vehicle play. The range includes a sports car, a drag racer and a 62-piece hot rods twin set. The jewel in the magnetic crown is the impressive 75-piece Monster Jam twin set with enough pieces for two chunky wheeled monster trucks, ramps and even a stunt ring of fire.
