Bikers Club® ME is rallying in support of Dubai Autism ‘Thunder Parade’ on the 11th February

Feb. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Bikers Club® ME is rallying in support of Dubai Autism ‘Thunder Parade’ on the 11th February from Gulf Bike Expo.

Bikers Club ME (Middle East) members will be participating with many UAE motorcycle clubs in support of the awareness campaign by Dubai Autism on the Friday 11th February to bring attention to the battle that children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

Basel Al Salah CEO of Sekurus and founder of Bikers Club ME Social Network said “Autism is the most common of the Pervasive Developmental Disorders, affecting an estimated 1 in 110 births. We believe that the we need to use a non-traditional means to bring awareness to the general public such an event with the largest number of motorcycles traveling at the same time across Dubai may have a bigger impact then your standard billboard or poster  bring a vast number of the community together”.

The aim of the rally is to get people talking about the disorder and to raise money for research. Each Thunder Parade participant will be requested to make a donation or buy the participation Pin of the event. Riders will receive a participation number from Dubai Shopping Festival one of the main supporters of the event “Thunder Parade”, is organized by a number of motorcycle Club’s at the Gulf Bike Expo and riders will come together as a community to help deliver awareness for autism.

For those who need to know, Autism (sometimes called "classical autism") is the most common condition in a group of developmental disorders known as the ASD. Autism is characterized by impaired social interaction, problems with verbal and nonverbal communication, unusual, repetitive, or severely limited activities and interests.

Al Salah said, “In order to express its support, Bikes Club ME will be publishing trip on its website whereby the site visitor can track the 2 hour trip starting from the ‘in show’ bike park at Gulf Bike Expo Festival City from 2pm. The site visitor can click on geo-referenced icons on the Google map screen to show the real-time locations of the rally participants.
