Geared For Imagination's Topozoo wins national award, launches new items with sustainable materials

Feb. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- Geared For Imagination (GFI, htttp://www.gearedforimagination.com) today announced that Topozoo® was selected last week as a Finalist in the New York International Gift Fair’s (NYIGF) “Best New Product Awards” in the Toy category.  The awards were presented to products as a recognition of “innovation and quality in juvenile product design”, according to Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president.  A panel of ten editors from national trade media in the kids industry made the selection from over 100 products.  This award follows Topozoo®’s selection last fall as one of Dr. Toy’s “Best Picks” for 2010.

GFI also announced the addition of three new products to its Topozoo® line, its first toy designed and manufactured in the company’s home state of Ohio.  Following on the success of its first three Topozoo® ‘custom creature playsets’ – Safari, Dinosaurs and Monsters – GFI has launched three new items:  Spring (including a Duck and Bunny), Unicorn and Dragon.  In addition to offering attractive introductory price points of $14.99 and $24.99, these new items incorporate sustainable materials:  felt fabric made in New Hampshire from recycled bottles and color stains made in Vermont from whey, a by-product of the cheese-making process.  These new materials allow GFI to expand on the design possibilities of its eco-friendly toys, which are made in the USA from formaldehyde-free, recycled wood and packaged in recycled boxes.  The three new items will debut next week at the International Toy Fair in New York, NY, held February 13-16, 2011.
