“Apprenticeships for All!”

THIS is the message from St Helens Chamber as they encourage businesses around the region to join them in celebrating National Apprenticeship Week

Feb. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- THIS is the message from St Helens Chamber as they encourage businesses around the region to join them in celebrating National Apprenticeship Week, which takes place this week (7th – 11th February).

Traditionally associated with the younger generation of workers entering the workforce, the Apprenticeship programme from St Helens Chamber is now available to employees of all ages, offering nationally recognised qualifications at level 2 and 3, plus an opportunity to develop key skills such as English, Maths and IT.

Apprenticeship Week is a national celebration of the contribution Apprentices make to the businesses in which they work and a way of raising the profile and business benefits of Apprenticeships to those businesses not already employing Apprentices.

Christine Barton, Training Services Manager at St Helens Chamber, said: “National Apprenticeship Week is a great way for us, as a provider of Apprenticeship training, to highlight the huge benefits local businesses have felt as a result of employing Apprentices.

“Nationally over 80% of businesses employing Apprentices agree that they make their workplace more productive, and with the new adult Apprenticeships which we have launched this year, there are no longer age restrictions in place on which employees can benefit from the training.”

St Helens Chamber delivers Apprenticeship programmes in businesses across Merseyside, providing training in key business areas such as business administration, customer service, IT and health & social care. Training is available to current employees of all ages and can be delivered at either level 2 or level 3 dependent on their previous experience and qualifications. Alternatively Apprentices can be recruited specifically to meet your business needs. Support with recruitment is available free of charge.
