Puerto Vallarta Airport Traffic Grew 3.4% in 2010

As of February 2011, there are countless direct flights to Puerto Vallarta by commercial carriers from international destinations including: San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Minneapolis, Denver, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Detroit, Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Regina.
In addition several charter airlines offer direct flights from the USA and Canada.

PASSENGER TRAFFIC RECOVERING FROM THE LOW IN 2009
Puerto Vallarta, as all of Mexico’s vacation destinations, suffered a 20% drop in passenger traffic during the 2009 H1N1 scare.
In 2010, Puerto Vallarta's international passenger traffic was affected by the USA housing recession as international volume has not returned to its 2008 levels.

SEASONAL CHANGES IN DEMAND
There are two distinct air traffic patterns in Puerto Vallarta; international and domestic.
The international passenger traffic accounts for 73% of Puerto Vallarta’s air passengers peaking January through March at around 570,000 passengers per month.
The domestic passenger traffic accounts for 27% of all passengers with a high season during the summer months of July and August peaking at around 222,000 passengers per month.
