New Facebook Service Application for Charities Launched

Feb. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Many charities have been highly successful using new media to create communities and mobilise supporters for events and campaigns. All the top 10 charities by the Charities Brand Index 2010  have Facebook pages but none of them use Facebook to deliver help, advice and support directly to those that need it. At best there are discussion pages or links with telephone numbers or to the main website.

Connect Assist works with charities and third sector organisation to deliver services, information, support and casework through the web or using helplines.  They have deployed the RightNow e-service solution for many charities and have just launched RightNow for Facebook.

RightNow has a simple integration tool, so visitors to Facebook can search for advice and information, get support and ask a question – either to members of the community or a private question direct to a qualified person – all without leaving Facebook. These questions can be escalated to staff team or advisors to follow up. Responses will be sent via email so a personal record can be kept of support given and advice received.

Importantly, they can comment on and rate information providing valuable 360° feedback. They can also provide ideas for improved service delivery. Using Facebook in this way also transforms people who use services into promoters as they can share experiences.
