STC Sponsors Global Telecom Investment Forum In Bahrain
Operators, Investment Firms, Service Agents and Media Providers to Discuss Global Challenges and Opportunities
The prestigious annual event, now in its fifth year, brings together leading representatives from international telecommunications, media and finance organizations, to debate investment strategy and assess opportunities for partnership both globally and regionally.
The conference is renowned for setting the investment agenda for the year for international leadership in the telecom and finance communities and facilitating innovation and partnerships.
“STC is delighted to take on the role of Main Event Sponsor for the forthcoming TMT Finance and Investment Middle East 2011 conference, which we believe will provide an important opportunity for dialogue and knowledge exchange across the industry,” said Ghassan Hasbani, CEO of STC International. “Bringing international and regional leadership together to debate partnership and investment opportunities is more critical than ever for those looking to expand successful global businesses in the current climate.”
Given the global leadership of telecom operators from the GCC, many industry observers believe this TMT event could be one of the most significant in its history. Future investment strategies for the sector will feature prominently at the event, as the majority of markets in the region continue to open up to competition and convergence accelerates.
“We are honoured to have a global telecom leader such as Saudi Telecom as Main Event Sponsor for this year’s event which we believe will continue our record of growing the event in size and stature every year since 2006,” said Dominic Lowndes, managing director of BroadGroup TMT Ventures. “The conference is unique in bringing together finance, legal and industry leadership and plays a pivotal role in setting the investment agenda in mature and emerging markets.”
STC is recognised as the leading telecommunications provider in the region with a workforce of more than 21,000 employees and the largest infrastructure in the Middle East. It is leading the delivery of digital media and content solutions across the region through its joint venture Intigral.
