Follow on Google News | Advanced Strength at CrossFit NorwestAthletes descend to CrossFit Norwest to display great feats of strength and power
By: CrossFit Norwest At 10am for the next 6 weeks on Saturdays CrossFit Norwest will be conducting advanced strength sessions. These sessions are going to involve lots of different ways to test an athlete to lift heavy in different ways. Some times atlas stones will be used along with kegs, kettlebells, sandbags, tires, ropes and traditional barbells. Watch out for the bands!!! they are going to get you!! The brains trust behind the advanced strength program is Cam Neeld. He has been training at CrossFit Norwest for around a year. He is one of the more advanced athletes in the box. Cam say's " The Idea behind the advanced strength program is to develop overall strength and power to increase your work capacity for your particular sport or daily needs." The strength sessions to do not discriminate between males and females and in fact females are encouraged to attend. This week lifts concentrated around the clean and jerk as well as the snatch. There were a lot of records broken for particular individuals in the strength/power type setting. The atmosphere in the gym was electric. Next week will be sure to see some other sterngth type lifts with more traditional deadlift and squat used as well as an introduction to some strongman training # # # CrossFit Norwest is Sydneys's Premier Strength and Training facility boasting the strongest male and female athletes in the region. The training is functional and aimed at getting results no matter what. End
