Dogs Imodium Dose As Diarrhea Treatment

Loperamide is the generic name for Imodium. It is an OTC (over-the-counter) drug for the the treatment of diarrhea in humans, and is also used for dogs in lighter dosages, sold under the brand names of Imodium AD, Kaopectate II and Pepto-Bismol.

The right dog dose for Imodium in liquid form is 1 ml of Imodium  per 1 lb of dog weight, every eight hours, while the right dose for Imodium in tablet form is generally 1 mg of Imodium per 20 lbs. of dog weight, every eight hours.
