Highfield will be signing copies of his novels on Saturday, February 12 at the Goodwill Book Store in Fort Myers. Highfield will sign and sell his books from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., donating a portion of the proceeds to Goodwill.
“In Sun Down Far” is the story of a Southwest Florida beach vendor. Highfield, a Fort Myers resident, set the story on Fort Myers Beach, but fictionalized the names of locations and establishments, he says, “to protect the innocent and the guilty.” His second novel, “Streets,” Highfield will donate 40% of the proceeds from Saturday’s book signing back to Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida (http://www.goodwillswfl.org) Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc. provides programs and services to help people with disabilities and other disadvantages. Revenue generated at Goodwill’s 25 Southwest Florida Retail & Donation Centers supports Job-Link centers, income-sensitive housing for senior citizens and people with disabilities, the GoodGuides Youth Mentoring Program, the L.I.F.E. Academy Charter School for students with developmental disabilities, and other programs.
