BSMReview.com Launches 2011 Business Service Management Survey

The BSMReview.com survey measures the adoption, perceptions and expectations of Business Service Management (BSM) industry-wide, providing a benchmark for companies to compare IT and business alignment based on market and business maturity.

Feb. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- BSMReview, an on-line community of business and IT professionals focused on Business Service Management (BSM) best practices, today announced it is conducting an annual survey to measure the maturity of BSM initiatives industry-wide. The BSM discipline is focused on aligning IT investments with business strategies to realize corporate goals.

The objective of the survey is to benchmark the adoption, perceptions and expectations of BSM across a variety of industry segments. The survey will help refine the definition of Business Service Management, quantify its value to the organization and provide the data necessary to measure IT and business alignment based on market and business maturity.

Survey participants will be provided a complimentary BSM Maturity report, analyzed by BSMReview experts, and will be invited to participate in a webinar that discusses the results. Participants will learn:

1.    How other companies are assessing the value of BSM
2.    How your BSM maturity and initiatives compare to others
3.    What others are doing to better align business with IT
4.    How others are measuring BSM effectiveness
5.    The norms for BSM adoption within your industry segment

The survey consists of 19 questions and the average time to complete the survey is 10 minutes. Survey participation is 100% anonymous. The 2011 BSM Maturity Survey is available at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BSMreview.

“The timing couldn’t be better for an industry-wide survey on BSM. The results will provide a foundational definition of BSM while providing a guideline for measuring progress and planning implementations. Kudos to BSMReview for their initiative in launching this effort.” Rich Ptak, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Ptak, Noel & Associates LLC.

The survey instrument is aligned with the BSM Maturity Model published last year by BSMReview. The maturity model provides a framework to assess where a company stands from a BSM perspective – that is the alignment of IT investments to service the business in the context of business strategy, goals and objectives.

“Our goal is to obtain survey responses from both IT and business personnel to provide a balanced view of BSM maturity within the enterprise, said Rick Berzle, co-founder and publisher of BSMReview. We strongly encourage forwarding the survey link to stakeholders who have a vested interest in aligning IT investment with business strategy."
