A hat trick of wins for Night Readers and the new Night Reading book of the year competition
On February 2, 2011 three members of the Night Reading authors' community won competitions simultaneously across different sites as Night Reading announces its new book of the year competition.

466 authors have now joined the site which is currently in the process of publishing 56 writers and poets at the rate of five books a month via its NightPublishing.com arm.
Many of these 466 authors have been award winners or highly acclaimed on other author-focused sites, such as HarperCollins' Authonomy, Slush Pile Reader, British Arts Council backed YouWriteOn and Authors on Show.
On Night Reading, authors showcase their books, discuss their triumphs and difficulties, and generally support each other in what is often the isolated and frustrated life of a writer.
On February 2, 2011 three authors picked up competition wins across different sites in one day. Janice Donnelly won Night Reading's own 'First Chapter / Poem of the Month' competition with her novel set in Northern Ireland; Jake Mooney won Suzannah Burke's 'Paragraphs of Power' competition for the best start to a novel with his 'Thanks be to God for Dappled Things'; and Karl Kronlage won himself a publishing deal with Slush Pile Reader by winning their competition after having already been in first place for many months with his book about a disaffected priest, 'St. Peter Killed God'.
Night Reading / Publishing, which already runs a monthly 'First Chapter / Poem of the Month' competition whereby it offers to publish the winner, has just announced an additional annual 'Night Reading Book of the Year' competition whereby the winner will be determined from a list of books published in any format by a member of the Night Reading community, starting with the year 2010, as voted on by members of the same Night Reading community.
All current members of the community are eligible to enter their 2010 books for the competition and to vote for their preferred books.
The winner will be announced on April 1, 2011.
