Feb. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Wrap your head bones around the  truth. Egypt's real problem: "oil production crosses swords on the chart with oil consumption," explains FreePressAndMedia.com publisher, opinion editor and philosophical minimalist Bill Purkins.

"Starting about 2010 or 2011, Egypt will change from an oil-exporting nation to an oil-importing nation.. " (www.minyanville.com/businessmarkets/articles/egypt-economy-food-prices-egypt-chart/2/1/2011/id/32542 )

"That's it, baby. Everything else is jive and there's nothing else you need to know. You've beaten the pack of spin doctors and news. And either they haven't figured it out or nobody wants to admit it because no one knows how to fix it," according to under the radar demographic marketing and promotion entrepreneur, new media journalist and geek computer wizard Bill Purkins, owner of the OneCent.US Group of Companies, including  offbeat press release and news opinion web site FreePressAndMedia.com.

"Unrest and any word related to the Middle East" is perhaps the biggest jive code word in world politics journalism ever coined, and has deserved the death sentence for decades. Unrest. Where else in the English language is there unrest besides the Middle East? Or turmoil for that matter?

"Don't go out tonight. Why? The streets are filled with unrest and turmoil, that's why." Has anyone ever spoken those words? Ever?Maybe on reality TV. More likely? 'You're out of your mind if you go out there. Why? You might  get your head blown off? Duh? Internet's down? Read a book. Not sure how that translates but you get the idea. Don't argue, please."

A bit of hope existed when we saw the fundamental question and a great headline / title too, from www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2011/feb/02/who-is-behind-egyptian-protests, unfortunately? The first sentence blows it though:

"A panoply of activists and opposition groups are maintaining the assault on Hosni Mubarak's presidency."  Panoply. Dictionary please?

Turmoil is another good one. About 10,000 news stories out there with leads or headlines today on Google NEWS with:  Egypt and turmoil. Egypt and debacle though? Less than 60. Personally, this desk thinks it is much more of a debacle than just turmoil. Ask Mubarak which word fits better.

And the US / Obama attitude? Do we really care? I wonder how long the meetings were about what color tie and suit Obama should wear. Think that line will get a couple of chuckles in area code 202? You'll never know. Instead? Just settle it please. And in an orderly fashion, isn't that what we want? 30 years?  It's over, okay?

It's Groundhog Day, President Mubarak. That's your shadow over there. You need another year? For what? Pardons? To pack up? You're 82. Try Arizona. Nice climate. Don't worry about that fence. Your visa awaits you. You done good. Now that does seem likely. Whether or not this is a good thing or a bad thing is for history to decide, and whoever wins will decide how history will read, so so much for objective journalism. This reporter calls as seen and it's a debacle, and it's all about oil.
