Golf Fitness Isn't Hard

When most people think about golf they think of a bunch of old guys or out of shape guys hitting a ball on their day off. They fail to realize the skill involved. And most won't even acknowledge the physical requirements.

Feb. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- The most common mistake people can make is thinking golfers aren't athletes. A lot of work goes into the sport whether you're a pro like Ian Poulter or just the average person out & about for a game with the locals.

The two most important areas golfers should work out are obviously the shoulders & knees. As a result most golfers focus on improve their leg strength & complete exercises devoted towards improving shoulder rotation.

Golfers focus on improving shoulder rotation because of how much it impacts their swing. A limited range of motion in your shoulders will result in a poor golf shot. It could also prevent you from hitting the ball as far as you can by limiting the torque developed by your swing.

Golfers also recognize their legs need to be in shape for walking the courses & their knees need to be more so. Helping your knees through fitness exercises improves your swing approach by improving your ability to stay positioned over the ball, in a centered fashion. It also prevents your knees from locking up during your swing.

I've seen many golf exercises noted in the past number of years but the ones mentioned at seem to be exercises most cognizant of how to improve ones golf game. While there are others out there, these have offered me great results thus far.
