The unique 2D Animation certificate course provides an opportunity for amateur animation enthusiasts to unleash their passion for 2D Animation. The programme encourages individualism and brings student's creativity to next level. Students will learn the practical knowledge and software skills necessary for 2D character animation.

The course covers the whole workflow of character animation, from conceptual, to frame by frame, to final production. It fosters a sharp understanding of character movement, and introduces the correct tools to give your animated creations soul, attitude and solid performance. Special topics include learning how to give character weight, balance, pose, line of action and timing.

The course equips students with the necessary nuts and bolts in the art of animation that provide the framework required to work as a professional animator.

This course is intended for amateurs and 2D enthusiasts who are interested in working in the animation industry.
We highly recommend this certificate course for creative people who have great passion for drawing and character design and yet lack of skills to bring your character to life.

Aims
Students attending the SAE Institute's 2D Animation Certificate program will learn detailed comprehensive skills in computer-generated 2D graphics and animation using the industry's most widely used 2D software packages. The objectives of this program are twofold: first to give the student a good theoretical understanding in the systems and equipment used in creating animations; and second, to provide in-depth practical experience in the most important 2D production techniques and design concepts available today.

Entry Requirements
•   Completion of at least GCE N-Levels
•   Mature age over 17 years
•   Familiar with basic computer operations
•   Proficiency in English Language

•   2D animation workflow

Software Used
Adobe Illustrator (basics, drawing a character), Adobe Flash (layering system, keyframe animation, tweening and usage of symbols).
