More Growth, New Partnerships Mark 2010 for Doba

"Doba's 2010 Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) grew 17.5 percent over 2009," said Chief Executive Officer Blaine Nielsen, using the term online retailers employ to measure total sales value for merchandise sold through a particular web outlet over a certain time frame. "December 2010 was our largest GMV month ever, by far." In fact, Doba's Nov. 1 to Dec. 31. 2010 GMV grew 64.2 percent over the same time frame a year ago, while growth in e-commerce as a whole was 12 percent per year, according to Coremetrics, a web analytics unit of IBM.

Doba also added 27 new business partners in 2010, including PinnacleCart, Volusion, and Marketecture. Doba is well known in the online retail industry for its partnerships with leading technology companies that provide applications and services to support online retailers. These companies often recommend Doba to their merchant customers as a source for a consistent supply of drop shipped products to sell online.

To encourage similar gains in the future, Doba announced two significant staff changes in 2010. Ben Reece, who has been with the company since 2004, was promoted from director of engineering to vice president of technology, and Ryan Zirker was promoted from director of operations to vice president of operations. Zirker, who has been with Doba since 2006, previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
