Jan. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- The Future Focus Foundation, an educational non-profit organization supporting youth programs of the Region 2000 Technology Council, received a grant in the amount of $2,700 from the Greater Lynchburg Community Trust’s Faye Marcum Mifka Fund.

The grant will be used to sponsor area 6-9 year olds to participate in Junior FIRST LEGO League, a foundational science and technology program featuring a real-world challenge, to be solved by research, critical thinking and imagination. Guided by adult coaches, students work with LEGO elements and moving parts to create solutions and present them for review at the April 30 Lynchburg Regional Junior FIRST LEGO Expo to be held at Timberlake Christian Schools. Children will present their projects on the theme “Body Forward,” focused on biomedical engineering, for judging, and participate in a number of age-appropriate activities.
