Job & Career Centers Offer Free Employee Recruitment Services To Ventura County Employers

Jan. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- VENTURA, CALIF.--The Ventura County Job & Career Centers (JCCs) are offering free employee recruitment and other professional services to employers in Ventura County. All are designed to make the challenge of finding and retaining the right employees easier.

   "JCC account executives are available to meet with employers to understand their recruitment needs and offer online and in-person candidate screening options," says Cheryl Moore, executive director of the Workforce Investment Board of Ventura County (WIB). The WIB supports employer services available through the county JCCs. "With free and easy ways to connect employers with job seekers," says Moore, "businesses can save time and resources in finding the best candidates. This is especially important in today's job market where one job posting can attract more than 100 resumes."

   The centers supply free meeting rooms for employers to conduct job interviews and host job recruitment events. "Small businesses and human resource departments appreciate access to the rooms, especially when they do not have the space or the privacy that a screening process might require," explains Moore.

   JCCs offer other free services to businesses, including worker retention programs, confidential workforce transition planning, workforce reduction services, career workshops, customized training programs and dislocated worker support. JCCs also have access to the latest labor market, labor law and tax credit information, and are able to provide referrals to no-cost/low-cost business consulting services.
   "Running a business of any size can be challenging in today's economy," says Steve Kinney, president, Economic Development Corporation of Oxnard and WIB chair. "Finding and retaining the right employees is critical to keeping a business productive and profitable. The professionals at our JCCs have a long and successful track record of working with Ventura County businesses for outstanding results--all at no cost to those employers."
