Sweeten up your Chocolate Week with World Bartender Competition to benefit Southern Ocean Hunger

Jan. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Grab a seat and enjoy a date night like none other! To add even more excitement to an already packed list of great Chocolate Week events and specials happening Feb 12-20, The Long Beach Island Destination Marketing Organization has teamed up with TGIFriday's in Manahawkin and B98.5 FM to present a showcase of style to raise money for the Southern Ocean County Community Foundation's local hunger relief efforts for seven food pantries located in Waretown, Barnegat, Stafford Township, Long Beach Island and Tuckerton.

Patrons can meet up with the B 98.5 van that will be outside of TGI Friday's beginning at 8pm and then join the fun barside as Pork Roll and Eggs Morning Show hosts Tom and AJ. These on air personalities will add their previous mixologist experience to the event as bartenders are judged by the flair and panache as they mix their signature drinks. All drinks will go up for auction with other prizes with all money raised going to help fight hunger in our own neighborhood. Judges of the event will include Celebrity Judge Nina from B98.5 hit morning show Porkroll and Eggs,Southern Ocean County Chamber Manager Michele Cuff, Destination Marketing Director Lori Pepenella and Taste of Southern Ocean Hunger Relief Project Chairman Dan Taylor, who are currently planning their major hunger relief fundraiser which feature a dozen local chefs preparing dishes from America's famous restaurants on May 3 at Sea Oaks Country Club.

Admission to the Bartender Competition is  a $5. donation to hunger relief efforts, stop by and join the crowd and cheer on the skills of these great bartenders as Chocolate Week continues to warm up winter in the LBI Region.
