Baseball had Gus Greenlee, basketball Robert L. Johnson, football Reggie Fowler; now Terrance Cox III joins this list of amazing trailblazers as the first African-American to own a NASCAR Motor Sports Team.

NASCAR, a sport that has a history of being “colorless”, “ethnically challenged” and some might even say a “Race 1” sport, Terrance Cox has dared to bust that door down with Hip-Hop artists in tow.

Cox is bringing his military education and his marketing background to Diversity Motor Sports, LLC where he sits as CEO. His history spans decades of marketing for Fortune 500 companies. Now, he is taking that knowledge and experience to the track where he has connected a flawless team of drivers to an untapped source of sponsors for NASCAR - Hip-Hop artists.

How does this work? Experienced drivers, along with the crew, tackle the course in a NASCAR Nationwide Racecar garnished with the logos or messages of the sponsoring artist. This not only brings in new (more) money to NASCAR but it also brings a new fan base with larger numbers to the Hip Hop Artist (also more money) - New NASCAR viewers tuning-in to see how their favorite artists’ racecar is doing in each NASCAR Nationwide Race.

But Cox isn’t just for increasing revenue for NASCAR and the Hip Hop Artists; he is dedicated to using this venue to shine a light on issues like Cancer, Alzheimer’s and Education. Cox also donates 10% of yearly profits to worthwhile organizations like Historic Black Colleges/Universities, 100 Black Men of America and Faith-based Organizations.
