Jan. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- A ’WICKED’ workshop taking place at Stone’s Rooftop Studios on Saturday, 19th February will offer budding stars the chance to hone their skills under the guidance of a top West End star. Ashleigh Grey, whose numerous musical roles have included a spell in ‘Wicked’ at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre, during which she played the part of Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West on numerous occasions, will lead the workshops that focus mainly on building student’s performance skills.

Ashleigh’s trip to Staffordshire will see her lead two 1.5 hour workshops during the Saturday ‘Pop School & Stage Academy’ (PSSA) sessions; the first session taking place from 12.30pm – 2pm and the second from 2pm-3.30pm. In addition to being open to the PSSA students the workshop is being opened to a limited number of children from outside the school on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Rooftop Studios Principal, Elaine Bird, explains:

“At Rooftop Studios we’re very fortunate to be able to be able to host a number of workshops with stars of the stage and screen throughout the year, thanks to our links with the West End and the fact that the founders and patrons of PSSA are experienced professional performers in their own right.

“We’re delighted that Ashleigh is going to be visiting us and helping pass on her invaluable knowledge and experience to our students, and would like to open this exceptional opportunity to other local budding performers who would like to hone their skills in dance, drama and singing.”

The workshops are open to all aged 8 – 18 and will take place on Saturday, 19th February. Spaces, at £5 per child, are limited and will be allocated strictly by prior booking. Register now to secure your place and for further information – call Elaine on 01785 761233.
