Follow on Google News | FLW Outdoors and Goodwill Gear Up for the Lake Okeechobee Open in ClewistonThe Walmart FLW Outdoors tour will come to Clewiston from February 3-6 for the Lake Okeechobee Open. Goodwill Industries and FLW Outdoors will continue their ongoing partnership to drive awareness and donations at the event.
The Walmart FLW Tour is operated by FLW Outdoors, the world’s leading tournament-fishing organization. The 2011 Tour season consists of 11 bass fishing events, including four Open tournaments, six Majors and the Forrest Wood Cup, and the Walleye Tour Championship. Among those competing will be professional angler Chad Grigsby of Maple Grove, Minn., who will be sporting the Goodwill® jersey and Smiling G logo and representing Goodwill on the Tour. Grigsby has participated on the Tour for nine years, with career earnings nearing $500,000 and nine top-10 finishes, including one at the Forrest Wood Cup, which is considered one of the most competitive events in pro bass fishing. Goodwill, which operates more than 2,500 retail stores and donation centers throughout the United States and Canada, will utilize the resources of FLW Outdoors to drive traffic and awareness to its locations. Goodwill will receive exposure and have a presence across multiple platforms of FLW Outdoors, including all bass and walleye events, FLW Outdoors’ multiple web sites, FLW Outdoors Magazine and “FLW Outdoors” television show on VERSUS. Locally, Goodwill (http://www.goodwillswfl.org) will participate at the FLW Outdoors Expo on February 5-6, with fun family activities and giveaways. The Expo will be located adjacent to the Clewiston Walmart (1005 W. Sugarland Hwy.).
