-- Ms. Kathryn Smith, Facility Services Manager for City Wide of Indianapolis, was awarded the second annual Barbara S. McGlinchey Award. Owner/Operator Jeff Smith personally presented the award.
The Barbara S. McGlinchey Award is given annually to the most deserving City Wide employee or contract associate who most demonstrates a positive attitude in the face of adversity. Kathryn has been employed by City Wide for nearly two years. “I was really honored to receive this award,” she said. “I never met Barbara but if she could have such an uplifting spirit in the face of so many heartaches, there is no reason for the rest of us not to try.”
“Kathryn is such a positive influence,” says Jeff Smith. “She is always smiling and has had a wonderful influence on the overall atmosphere of our office and on all of the clients she works with. Rarely do I see her in anything but a good mood.”
Barbara McGlinchey, former employee of City Wide Maintenance of Indianapolis, lost a long but strong fight against a virulent form of breast cancer in early 2009.
“Barb was known as a positive and determined woman to her co-workers and clients,” continues Smith. “She battled challenges every day most of us will never know and yet remained professional, always willing to serve our business.”
