Company executives began making plans late last year for implementing new market expansion by looking for a hub of operations west of their Dallas offices. "Denver is a prime target for us for a number of reasons," says Chris Ducret, Partner with Caledonian Management Group. "There is a strong mix of established and new small to mid-sized businesses in and around the Denver area, and there is a strong tech and telecom presence. Those businesses are ideal clients that will quickly benefit from our management, marketing, and IT services.

Additionally, Caledonian sees this step as a perfect extension of its acquisition strategy. Currently, there are twenty-three banks in Colorado that are in the "troubled" category. Caledonian's strengths in turning around troubled companies, coupled with the funding resources in place, position the company to provide the kind of help needed to turn these struggling institutions around. "Regardless of what some media and government operatives would like us to believe, small and mid-sized businesses continue to hemorrhage due to economic woes," states Ducret. Caledonian Management has turned around well over 500 companies to date, and completed a number of acquisitions already this year, including a marketing services firm. The company is also in advanced stage cash injection discussions with two banks and early stage discussions with four more.
