Heaton Mersey Orthodontic Practice Wins Best In North West Accolade

Jan. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- The Heaton Mersey Orthodontic Centre launched ten years ago by Bilal Bhatti and Tazeen Usmani has won the Best Practice in the North West category in the prestigious Dentistry Awards 2010.

The Didsbury Road centre, whose 20 staff handle both NHS and private orthodontic work, was singled out for its expertise, state-of-the-art treatments and a mass of patient testimonials which heaped praise on the practice and its team.

The judges also recognised Bilal and Tazeen’s commitment to sourcing the very latest treatments and specialist equipment for patients thanks to their close links with research organisations and manufacturers particularly in the USA.

“We were absolutely delighted to get the award,” said Bilal who with Tazeen set up the practice in 2000 with just two staff. “It recognises our commitment, as a practice, to the pursuit of excellence. We really do want to be the best in the country.”

Tazeen added: “Our patients and the quality of service we deliver to them is central to our practice and this major award confirms our determination to reach and stay at the top of our profession.”

Tazeen said that news of their success in the awards, sponsored by FMC, the publisher of the Dentistry Magazine, came just before Christmas. Unfortunately, pressure of work from patients who come from across the North West, meant neither she nor Bilal could attend the presentation ceremony.

“Well our patients must always come first,” she added. “Happily their support played a major part in our awards success. The awards team will have carefully studied patient comments on service and treatments.”

The accolade could not have come at a better time, arriving shortly after the completion of a £700,000 refurbishment of the practice which had involved an upgrade of facilities and equipment and the addition of a two-storey extension.

“Happily, we were able to celebrate our award with the rest of our dedicated team over Christmas,” added Tazeen.
