Jan. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Jet Airways, India's premier international airline, has capitalised on the improvement in global business and leisure travel, posting impressive passenger load factors for December 2010. The airline has registered a buoyant 15.3% growth in international revenue passenger traffic carrying 4.23 lakh guests in December 2010 as compared to 3.67 lakh in the same period last year. This inspite of major disruption of air traffic at United Kingdom and in the US due to inclement weather augurs well for the airline.

In the domestic market, revenue passengers grew by an 8.5%, with the airline carrying 9.23 lakh in December 2010, as compared to 8.51 lakh in the previous year. This growth at Jet Airways marks fourteen consecutive months of consistent growth. A fact mirrored in the domineering market share of 25.4 per cent held by the Jet Airways Group.

JetLite, the wholly owned subsidiary of Jet Airways India Ltd, has also clocked a impressive 19.7% growth carrying over 4.07 lakh passengers in the month of December 2010 as against 3.40 lakh in the previous year, aided by peak holiday season and improved services, which have enabled the airline to improve its penetration in the value carrier segment.

Jet Airways and JetLite registered on time performance with 85.4 per cent and 82.6 per cent respectively for the month of December.

According to Mr. Nikos Kardassis, CEO, Jet Airways, “A record breaking fourteen months of consecutive growth ratifies the fact that Jet Airways has been able to deliver on the promise of a superior guest experience. This is largely due to constant product innovation, effective network planning and strategic marketing initiatives, which we have implemented in the past year .Our enhanced domestic and international network capabilities, coupled with strategic code-shares, have further helped us deliver seamless travel solutions to our discerning guests. A marked increase in demand for our Premiere segment with the introduction of four course meals, further exemplifies our understanding of the dynamic needs of the Indian consumer.”
