Living Theatre presenting Korach, based on the Biblical story

New York's Living Theatre is presenting a new production, written and directed by Judith Malina.

Jan. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- The Living Theatre has opened its first production of 2011, Korach, written and directed by Judith Malina. The play is based on the Biblical story of Korach, the Israelite who defied the authority of Moses. Back Stage called the production “compelling, even haunting”.

Judith Malina founded The Living Theatre in 1947. Since then, the company has produced nearly 100 productions.

This production uses text, movement and song in ways that The Living Theatre has perfected. It combines anarchism with religion to make a statement that’s both political and poetic.

Korach ends with a joyous coup de théâtre, the actors dancing with the audience.

Korach runs through February at the Living Theatre on Clinton Street, on New York’s Lower East Side. For information, see www.livingtheatre.org.
