   Philadelphia, PA – On February 14th, 2011 University of Pennsylvania senior Nate Adler and up-and-coming Chef Jordan Miller will debut their new order and pick-up only restaurant and catering business, KITCHEN in West Philadelphia. With an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and making food from scratch, the restaurant will provide healthy, home-cooked meals to students and the surrounding community at an affordable price. KITCHEN was inspired by students, who have been vocal about their desire for more appetizing, health-conscious and balanced food options in the University City area. The menu is based on the concept of simplicity. This is not fine dining; think more along the lines of your mother's cooking, kicked up a notch, using some of the freshest ingredients available.
   Chef Jordan Miller’s tempting menu will combine seasonal flavors to give a delicious taste of home comfort food. Certain parts of the menu will remain as staples, while others will change weekly. From our entrees, choose from many options including Chicken Pot Pie made with farm-fresh vegetables, roasted butternut squash, melt-in-your-mouth chicken and a flaky biscuit crust and Vegetable Lasagna, crafted with fresh pasta, our own home-made ricotta and market vegetables. In our sandwich section, you will find the innovative West Philly Bahn Mi, a delectable Vietnamese-style hoagie with a choice of beef or pork meatballs marinated in a sweet chili glaze with pickled daikon radish, cucumbers and carrots, cilantro and sriracha aioli on a homemade baguette. Complementing these dishes is a long list of deliciously prepared sides (choice of one accompanies each entrée) including crispy tater-tots with seasonal dipping sauce, and an array of creatively prepared vegetables. Last but not least comes dessert – a collection of Chef Miller’s mouth-watering bread puddings, including his personal favorite—Doughnut Bread Pudding—Banana Bread Pudding, and a seasonal option. Full meals will cost around $15 or less including tax and delivery.
   Graduating in 2008 with a degree in culinary arts from the University of San Francisco in Quito, Ecuador, Chef Jordan Miller has since proven himself as an innovative, passionate chef in North Carolina. We welcome him to Philadelphia, where he plans to use his love for food and attention to detail—he emphasizes making everything from scratch—to build KITCHEN into a sure success in University City and beyond. His personal flare and creativity will be evident in the seasonally adapted order-only menu and specially planned catered events, allowing ample opportunity for new and exciting flavors.
   KITCHEN will be open Wednesday thru Sunday between 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm for dinner delivery to the University City area and pick up at 4529 Springfield Avenue.
