Cashore Marionettes Perform at BIG ARTS - Show Celebrates the Richness of Life

Jan. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- “Life in Motion” will be performed by Cashore Marionettes at BIG ARTS 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30. BIG ARTS Schein Performance Hall is located at 900 Dunlop Road, Sanibel. Tickets are general admission $36, student $15.
   
Joseph Cashore is a masterful manipulator of marionettes and has traveled the world with his puppet artistry for more than 30 years. “Life in Motion” portrays characters of depth, integrity and humanity in scenes set to the music of famous composers such as Beethoven, Vivaldi and Strauss. Cashore describes his show as an entertaining, one-of-a-kind evening for adults and young adults.
   
Cashore came to fame in the 1980s for impressing audiences and critics alike with puppet Maestro Janos Zelinka and its convincing ability to appear to “play” Ralph Vaughan Williams’ violin solo, The Lark Ascending, note for note. A Toronto Sun review praised Cashore’s craft, saying, “The range of movement truly has to be seen to be believed and even that might be pushing it.”

Cashore has since received numerous awards for his artistry, including a Pew Fellowship for Performance Art and a Citation of Excellence from the North American Center of Union Internationale de la Marionnette-U.S., the highest honor an American puppeteer can receive. A critic from The Atlanta Journal described Cashore Marionettes as “artistry with insight and illusion.”
